When I’m not having fun with make-up, I enjoy spending time in the countryside with my husband and our two Pointers Wilson and Stanley. I just love how nature feeds the soul and I adore the British countryside.

I’m a mum to two teenage sons who are way too cool to be hanging out with me these days, I mainly exist to embarrass them! I LOVE food and enjoy cooking up a veggie dish or two, which isn't always that popular in a household of big meat eaters! I'd say my favourite cuisines are most definitely Thai and Italian. I'm partial to a great coffee shop and always looking for good recommendations.

I love to up-cycle furniture and seeing beautiful old pieces going to waste makes me sad! When you come to my studio you’ll find many pieces that I’ve brought back from the brink of the furniture graveyard and given a new lease of life!

I regularly practice yoga and pilates, and I'm allegedly training for a half marathon this year! But in all seriousness exercise has to be part of my life, it really helps to keep me mentally and physically well. It’s imperative that I stay on top form for myself, my family and my brides.

My Passion

Make-up, Make-up, Make-up!

I know it sounds really cliché and cheesy but honestly, I really have known that from as young as I can remember I wanted to be doing something with make-up. I think I was probably about 8 when I discovered my mum's box of make-up, which would have been in the mid 80’s, those electric blues, vibrant greens and pinks! Literally a kid in a sweet shop!

My departure from school took me to study IHBC Beauty Therapy at Oxford College, Oxfordshire in 1996 as my careers advisor suggested this is the root I should take if I wanted to learn about makeup! Only a slight detour!

After the arrival of my first son in 2004 I decided to update my qualifications within the make-up and beauty industry and returned to study through evening classes at Aylesbury College, Buckinghamshire. Later studying further to advance my training and qualifications at The Beauty Academy, Milton Keynes before setting up my beauty therapy business,The Beauty Barn, Oving in 2012. Since this time I have attended The Bath Academy of Media Make-up, Somerset and various training days at the highly regarded and world renowned Kristina Gasparas Make-up Academy in London, which I am endorsed by and a recommended supplier of theirs.

With my youngest son completing secondary school recently, I decided it was time to spread my career wings and follow my deep routed make-up passion. Having worked with brides and special occasion make-up clients for many years during running my beauty business, I knew that this was the area that I wanted to really channel my make-up passion. Being part of a bride's wedding day or a client's special occasion is an incredible honour.

I honestly LOVE how make-up can make you feel. I’ve been so privileged to work with so many women who have left my make-up chair or studio feeling so uplifted, confidence boosted, with a spring in their step. How amazing is that to be able to help a person to feel this way?!
